Abstract
Learn more about how you can use programming misconceptions to improve your CS courses! Novice programmers often exhibit many programming misconceptions. When teachers and TAs know which misconceptions their students are likely to hold, they can help them better and challenge those wrong conceptions to induce conceptual change. With this in mind, Luca Chiodini (Università della Svizzera italiana, Switzerland) and his colleagues have built progmiscon.org: an attempt to systematically document and present what we call “programming language misconceptions” to improve programming education.
In his talk for CodeGrade, Luca Chiodini will not only discuss their research and results, but also share practical tips on how you can use progmiscon.org in your CS courses to tackle programming misconceptions!
